Track and Dolly

The track and Dolly camera setup is essentially a camera is generally used to take smooth, horizontal video shots, mainly tracking shots. I work in a way that the camera is set up onto a moving board (Dolly) and is manually pushed back and fourth by a person. An advantage of this would be that it is human controlled rather than machine controlled which could possibly be faulty. The disadvantage of this technique could be that is does not have a vast range of movement, rather than a handheld camera.

Stedi-cam

The steady cam is a large camera stabiliser used to capture steady camera shots. It allows a steady camera shot even over uneven surfaces when used. The main advantage of a steadicam would be its ability to take steady camera shots over a regular handheld camera. The possible disadvantage could be that it is a heavy device and could cause discomfort for the user.

Tripod

A tripod is used to elevate and stabilise a camera while filming a section. It works in an automated fashion that the user only controls the angle of camera shot. The advantage of a tripod would be that it steadies the camera and is easy. The possible disadvantage could be that it cannot move. It is only in one stationary placement so it limits the user.

H1N

The H1N recorder is used to record audio at very high levels of quality. It works simply with one butting with the function of start and stop recording. You are also able to adjust the sensitivity of sound being recorded when being used. The advantage of this over a handheld camera is that it has a greater sound quality recoding. The clear disadvantage is that it cannot record video.

Diagetic sound - Sound whose source is visible on the screen or whose source is implied to be present by the action of the film: voices of characters. sounds made by objects in the story. music represented as coming from instruments in the story space.

Non-Diagetic sound - Sound whose source is neither visible on the screen nor has been implied to be present in the action: narrator's commentary, sound effects which is added for the dramatic effect, mood music.
