Designing Company Name and Logos

These were our first ideas for creating our company names. They were originally based around our team name, team Vader, then expanded onto other ideas.

Our choice of company name was Force-full TV. This was chosen because the name connotes to our original team name, team Vader, being based around the Star Wars franchise. The name also relates to the force being something that binds and holds relationships and people together. So calling the company name Force-full implies that the companies aim is to create and hold a positive relation with the customer.

We did not choose our other ideas such as WorksDreams or Pony since they were such blatant rip-offs of other well known film industries such as DreamWorks or Sony. If these ideas were chosen, potential customers would view our business as a joke and would easily lose interest.

Logo Ideas:

1st idea:

Process:

This logo was created by first saving these two images into a folder.

After saving these images, a new .psd file was created with a width of 12cm and a length of 12cm and a resolution of 300 pixels/cm with a black background. The first image of the hand was first pasted onto the document and the white background of the image was cut out, only leaving the hand. There were left over white pixels next to the hand which were then manually removed. The second image was then pasted in above the hand. Both of the pasted images then had their levels adjusted, giving the hand a warmer look and the singularity a  more saturated look. Finally, a logo was taken from dafont.com which was used to create 'Force-Full TV'. This was then pasted in with a white colour at the top of the logo.

Evaluation:

This is my first idea for creating a logo for our company. I think this is an appealing image to be logo since it immediately draws the viewers attention to the image then gradually analyse the rest of the image to read the company name. Furthermore, the image of the hand almost holding the singularity is easily remembered by the viewer and symbolises the 'force' as known from the Star Wars franchise. This could be viewed as something as visually pleasing. Alternatively, this could be viewed as a drawback since the company name is not in plane sight, having the viewer analyse longer than they would have liked to.

2nd idea:

I think that this logo idea would be suitable for the company name since 'the force' comes from the star wars franchise. I also think that Darth Vaders helmet would be appropriate since it is also from the star wars franchise
